Introducing....Ada Madeline Bérubé

... born at home at 11:11am on February 22, 2009 under the phenomenal care of our midwives. At birth, Ada weighed 8lb 9oz and was 20.5 inches long.

Labour was much shorter than for Calla, and was positively civilized - get up in the morning, have breakfast, labour and give birth before noon. Calla was at home for the first while with our friend Allyson and was excited that the big day had finally (...finally!) come. They then went to play with Gryffin and Rowyn at Allyson's house and everyone came back to meet Calla's new sister shortly after she was born.

Unlike Calla, Ada spent her first couple days in the outside world wide awake - reasonably happy as long as she was nursing and/or being held. She is now sleeping a bit more and is adjusting to the bright noisy world.
