Car-free festival and other photos

We headed over to the Car-free Commercial Drive festival this past Sunday with our friends Adam and Carolyn. A rare event in Vancouver where a street is closed to cars - always fun! Calla soaked up all the new sights and sounds, and did her best to impress Care and Ad with her new tricks.

Calla has found what she would like to be her first bike!

In other news, Calla is learning to walk! She just loves pushing her new toy around - preferably one-handed, while clutching on to her latest favorite object (i.e. a pea pod, a pickle, her bag of duplo animals...)

basket for putting her toys in...

Yes, I know this is horribly out of focus...but it is included because Calla has a striking resemblance to her cousin Xavier here (we'll see if anyone else agrees).

This took Calla and I many tries - she kept performing her feat and I would take a photo just as the spoon fell out. She was very patient with me, and eventually, I got the photo and she could move on to other fun activities.
